$166,992 in New Horizons for Seniors Program funding in Egmont

In Egmont this year, 14 organizations received a grand total of $166,992 in New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) funding to support the health and well-being of seniors and the community resources they rely on.

The following organizations across Egmont received NHSP 2020 funding for senior-focused projects and resource improvements:

  • East Prince Seniors Initiative Inc., $8644
  • St Eleanors Lions Club, $10,352
  • The City of Summerside, $17,460
  • Trinity United Church, $5,000

Tignish

  • Conseil Rév.S.-É.-Perrey inc., $14,500
  • Tignish Seniors Home Care Co-operative Ltd., $6,000

Tyne Valley

  • Tyne Valley Firemen's Club Inc, $25,000

The NHSP provides grants and contributions for projects that help improve the well-being of seniors in their communities and foster their social inclusion. Every year, organizations are invited to apply for NHSP community-based funding through a call for proposals.

Since 2004, the NHSP has funded more than 27,400 projects in hundreds of communities across Canada, with a total Government of Canada investment of more than $600 million dollars.
